A Shell In the Pit is “a Vancouver-based composer and sound designer.” Well that’s a fancy name for a musician. To go along with the unique self-description of this artist, the pieces they produce are rather unique too. It’s an amalgamation of folk inspired acoustic guitar along with some heavier rock riffs, some electronic drums and synth. Yeah, it sounds very weird, but A Shell In the Pit manages to make it work. Black Rhino is the opening track off of mammals and is a great introduction to the album and the person known as A Shell in the Pit. This artist has a ton of content if you’re interested in listening to more, so don’t be afraid to do some of your own research and dive right in.
