With hip-hop, R&B, and pop saturated with sex, it’s time indie shares a little love. “Good Sex” is the first single off former Broken Social Scene co-founder, Kevin Drew’s, sophomore solo album, Darlings. With “Good Sex” I experienced the same thing as the first time I listened to Brendan Canning’s You Gots 2 Chill; it’s definitely not BSS, it’s more mature and a little cleaner, but the quality is still there. Here’s what Drew has to say about the album:
“This record is a celebration of memories. It’s about the rise and fall of love and sex, in my own life and in today’s society. This topic has been with me for years. I approached it focused purely on the songwriting, leaving all the tricks and explosions behind. I hope you like it… and if you don’t, give to someone who will.”
Straight, honest, and intriguing; Darlings is out March 18th via Arts & Crafts. For more Broken Social Scene revival, check back in with us in a few days to read our interview with Brendan Canning.
