I recently stumbled upon this song, and ever since that fateful encounter I have been constantly playing it on repeat. No joke, this is easily one of the best songs I have heard in a while. Courtesy of our Canadian friends, the Born Ruffians, “Oh Cecilia” was released on March 25th as a part of the deluxe edition of their most recent album Birthmarks.
Mixing smooth and funky vibes, this song lends itself to an overall groovy feel that will keep your head bobbing from start to finish. All of the sounds blend together with great ease, as your ear seamlessly catches on to the multiple layer. Once again, lead singer Luke Lalonde shows off his great vocal range with a catchy and sexy chorus that will have you singing along from the very first time your hear this song. Top that with playful lyrics, snappy rhyme schemes and a great flow, and this song has all the makings of one of their classic love ballads, living up to everything we have come to expect from the Born Ruffians.
