Vancouver’s Luke Hartle started blending folk and electronic to create the sound that is iamforest in early May of 2012. As would probably be expected coming from the fusion of those two genres, the tracks are unpredictable, but with mesmerizing melodies and guitar that drips through the percussion the music creates a blissful genre of its own.
“Structures” was released a little over a week ago, and has been keeping me in this world since. The song is for sale by donation on his bandcamp along with his two EPs Meadows and Forest. With the ability to now download songs from YouTube, paying for music is a thing of the distant past, and Harlte knows it. “I would prefer for everyone to have the music to listen to and share with others than to have it sit there doing nothing with a price tag on it.” …Well, at least he’s being honest with himself. But, come on, you can spare $1 for him, I’m sure he’d do the same for you.
