The Way We Do It

The influential West Coast hip-hop group Jurassic 5 has just released its first new music in over eight years. The group dissolved shortly after the release of its 2006 album Feedback, sighting musical differences, but Charli 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Marc 7 and producer Cut Chemist are back with a new track called “The Way We Do It”. The song samples the White Stripes song, “My Doorbell” off of Get Behind Me Satin, and features another hip-hop hero, Heavy D. The group reunited last year on the Coachella stage for the first time since the split and have touring since then in Europe and the States. This track breeds hope for J5 fans that a new album may be in the works, as some members have hinted towards the idea. For those unfamiliar with the group, J5 released four fantastic albums between 1998 -2006, with their biggest success coming with their tack “What’s Golden”, off their 2002 LP Power In Numbers. Check out “What’s Golden” below!
