The Wild Hunt

I’m a big fan of listening to seasonally-appropriate music, and “The Wild Hunt” by The Tallest Man on Earth is essentially the feeling of autumn wrapped up into 3 minutes and 22 seconds. Cool little story about this one: the “Wild Hunt” is actually an ancient European myth with the premise that there are immortal hunters who kidnap anyone who gets in the Hunt’s path and brings them to the land of the dead. Knowing that, to me the song as an encouragement to be fearless, because you know what, the huntsmen are going to get us all one day, so you can either hide from them or live your life anyway and risk getting swept up by the cavalcade. However, I think one of the most beautiful parts of music is finding yourself in the lyrics, so I encourage you to interpret the song in whatever manner you like.

On an equally sweet note, Kristian Matsson’s voice and vibe is a dead ringer for Dylan’s, and really, what more could you ask for?

So with that, grab your jack-o-lanterns, cardigans, pumpkin spice lattes, and the album The Wild Hunt, and get ready to look at some colourful leaves, because fall is upon us.
