Three White Horses

A few weeks ago Andrew Bird released a new EP Hands of Glory, which is the companion to album Break it Yourself which came out earlier this year. On making this album, Bird says “Hands of Glory begins with two songs we actually recorded in a church in Louisville on a day off on our July tour. The rest was recorded around a single microphone at the barn in August. We ended up putting the drums on the back porch.” In the first track on the album, “Three White Horses,” you can definitely feel the western vibe. It’s a beautiful smoky folk tune that makes me want to take a nap in a cornfield, or ride bareback through the countryside, but at the moment I’ll have to be satisfied with listening to it while studying. Enjoy!
